“I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions, and like a cloud, your sins. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.” Isaiah 44:22
God has forgiven my sins. But I am the one who chooses to return to Him. I am the one who has to have the revelation that all my sins are forgiven and be spurred on to return to my Redeemer.
God is mighty. God is all powerful. There is only one God who created all things and can do all things. He sees the future and knows all things.
Yet, he gives me power and choice — to choose him based on my recognition of and need for him. My sins are forgiven and my transgressions are blotted out — but I must choose him to experience the reality of his grace and love.
Despite having all power, he leaves himself vulnerable to be rejected. He leaves his heart open to heartbreak.
He has also been abandoned and has experienced the pain that results from rejection. He has had to stand by and watch those that he loves choose others. He is continually rejected.
“He is despised and rejected by men. A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from him; he was despised, and we did not esteem him.” Isaiah 53:3
His love is rejected. He waits for my love. He gives me power to choose.
I choose him.
“In him you trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:12-14
Prayer: I love you, Lord. I choose you.
Thank you for loving me and forgiving me and making yourself available to me — for me to know you.
Thank you for delivering me, restoring me and giving me a new life based on my relationship with you.
Thank you for reconciliation of all that has been lost to me.
Thank you for understanding and wisdom — that I might apply your word in every area of my life — bringing you glory and honor.
