Rise up

Shake yourself from the dust and arise; be seated, O Jerusalem; loose the bonds from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion. Isaiah 52:2

Every day we need to rise up, let go of our convictions and perceptions of what’s good for us and what we think we need. We need to let go of our personal agendas and let God be the author and finisher of our faith and be the One who writes our story.

We need to accept God’s offer for the day and know, that by knowing His character, that whatever happens can be the very best for us – and that he has enabled and equipped us for whatever come what may.

This means, if the day brings trial and tribulation, we get to work out his righteousness and what that means in the situation. If it’s a blessing, we get to be thankful and credit the blessing to the One who brought it. If it means working out the kinks in our our relationships, then we get to apply God’s principles to all of our interactions – we get to walk in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control. We get to forgive those who have hurt us.

Every day – we get to rise up, not in our own expectations, but to understand and apply the gospel in our daily living and embrace all the blessings and challenges of life – God’s way.
